Memories ....

I feel like writing .. I don't know why, I just feel like it ..

and sorry in advance for those who hate English posts ..

There are certain things I'm more used to express in English rather than Arabic .. not because of my weakness in Arabic, or the the weakness of Arabic as a language .. but because this way I'll be writing from my comfort zone, and I like to but things within my comfort zone .. 

Putting that aside, I have two things i need to write about today, both are revolving around memories .. hence the post's name ..

1. Places and memories ..

for the past couple of weeks, the memory of this specific place has been poking my head constantly, Gloria Jean's Coffees, Al Baraka Mall, I believe it's on the 3rd flour.

I have few memories of the place, memories I cherish and adore, I've met a very dear person to me there, for the first time, and maybe for the last time, i'll never know. I tried the cheesecake for the first time in my life there, and more ..

Part of the beauty of those memories, is that there were no love scenes in them, just simple human communication, friendship and soulfulness, at some memories i was alone, and I didn't mind it at all, the place is peaceful and quit, most of the time empty. you can sit there smoke your cigarette with a sip of their Mochachino and look through the window over a beautiful part of Amman.

Maybe many of you went there, and I know it's a very normal coffee shop, nothing fancy about, It's just the memories in there. First thing this summer (Insha ALLA), i want to go there, have a peaceful hour or two, before heading to the cinema for a movie.

Why am I bringing this up here? well, two reasons I have ..

a) The idea of a place holding a human memory always fascinates me, i think some places hold memories more than any human brain can handle, still standing up, doing it's job everyday.

b) The seasonal Spring Depression is active, which means lots of images and scenes dig themselves out of my rusty memory and present themselves on a plate just to dip me more in my depression .. (amazing stuff ya man, crazy stuff)

2. Words and memories ..

On the other side of the world, the cyber world, I had this incident, that happened to me twice, first at the end of the last month, and the second time yesterday, what happens is that a massive amount of emails, can go back as far as the moment i made my email account, resend themselves to me, in total I deleted ~1900 FB-notification-free repeated emails, and to do so, I had to go through some emails I've deleted long time ago, and some things I've forgotten, and with my "Spring Depression" situation, things weren't that pleasant I tell ya. Anyway, I didn't mind the words I've seen, I minded the memories they were holding. and it felt strange to remember, it felt strange to re-think and re-live some scenes long time ago I buried.  I count myself blessed to have such rusty memory, with all the craziness I put myself through, i should be a zombie by now, but thanks to my useless memory, I'm not. Deleted again are the emails, and now starting to re-bury what have been pulled out.

or to throw away when things get ugly..
